If your married life is in trouble, you should be able to understand the exact problem and then control the situation. Taking any harsh decision might be embarrassing for the personal and social status of the couple.

It doesn’t matter whether you are man or woman, whether you look after the kids or pay the bills, you should take initiative to resolve the problems in married life and maintain the relationships. If your marriage is in danger, try not to show your partner the tension or desperation you're feeling. It will make him/her feel suffocated and your spouse will push you away. Always try to control your emotions and keep calm.

One of the important tips to save marriage is to give the space to your partner. A little space may make the things much easier to deal with. Give time to do those things which make you feel good and strong about you. Spend some time with your friends and family. Do such things that increase your self-esteem.

Work to find out an area where both the partners can agree and be happy with the decisions. Always remember that the goal of a marriage is to help and support each other through sadness and happiness. Love is an important bridge in a married life that may keep the couple attached together. Show your passion to your partner in a new way everyday. Use romantic competition and games to get closer or you may send a romantic message to your partner.

One of the significant tips to save marriage is that you should understand each other very well. Then only, you will able to solve the problems in your married life without giving rise to conflicts. Your partner should be the first priority for you and you should know about the hobbies and interests of your partner. You can write a romantic poem or prepare a romantic meal or give a romantic gift to your partner.

Avoid continuously complaining about the small issues and try to ignore the unimportant  things. If there is any serious issue that you are unsatisfied about, talk about it clearly. Have open discussions about it with your partner. Get ready for facing the challenges.

Jealousy may lead many couples to the divorce court. Hence, don’t ever be jealous about the professional and personal progress of your partner. Be honest to your partner and always have a strong belief in him/her.

If your partner is aggressive, you should be calm and keep your emotions in control. Be reasonable, rational and calm. Whenever you lose your temper during the arguments, you generally tend to say and do the things that you actually didn’t mean.

Does Music Influence Learning in Children?

In general, how does music influence learning?  Experts have researched on this and have provided enriching information.  One observes that music can hone creativity.  Another believes that through the study of music one can examine higher creative and learning functions.  Another has it that musical intelligence is one of the seven basic intelligences.

Music has the ability to help people learn more effectively.  It can create a considerable contribution to all of education because these people benefit by enhancing key developmental goals such as self-esteem and creativity.  Research has it that music can influence learning in core subjects as well as contribute to the attainment of core goals in learning.

What is interesting to know more about is the effect of music on the learning of children.  It is noticeable that small children have that fascination towards music which can be manifested when they hum, have the urge to move to music, become joyful when hearing mother’s lullaby, or become excited when their favorite song is being played.  If children are encouraged to learn a musical instrument, their rational, emotional, and motor modalities are being stimulated.

With regard to speech development, the fetus is capable of listening to the voices of the parents.  It can already hear and even recognize music.  Prenatal psychology reports that music has a remarkable influence on the development of the fetus.  After birth, babies imitate the sounds they hear that usually by the age of five, their vocabulary has widened.

In each developmental phase such as in preschool learning, a child develops certain abilities especially well such as movement, vision, music, speech, or emotions.  To develop musically, these children need the proper stimulation at the appropriate time.

It has been researched that classical music strengthens parts of the brain that are necessary for logical thinking.  When one listens to music and makes music, there are changes that are observed in certain parts of the brain.  Playing a musical instrument is a complex activity because it involves the use of the intellect as one tries to comprehend, the motor skills as one performs, the emotions as one initiates, as well as the senses.

Research has it that children who play violin or guitar at a young age demonstrate notable changes in brain activity.  Active music making stimulates motor skills.  Furthermore, music making promotes social competence.  It provides motor, intellectual and emotional behavioral skills that encourage general sociability.

Parents of children who are learning to play musical instruments have noticed that their children have learned to concentrate better and longer.  They also observed that they have improved their memory skills and that they have learned to approach something new in a systematic way.  These parents have recognized that making music helped in developing the positive character traits of their children.  They have become more disciplined through daily practice.

So, does music influence learning in children?  Certainly.  Through music and active participation, children can achieve better balance between school and sports.  It can also be an outlet for the children’s anxiety and aggression so that they can better channel and express their emotions.  Being influenced by music, children learn to develop an understanding and respect for art as well as appreciation for beauty.

They get to be inquisitive and expand their knowledge in the different types of music.

Aerobics For Kids

It is important to teach kids early about health and fitness.  Involving them in exercise and aerobics would not only help them understand health but also help them direct their energies into movements and practices that would be productive and at the same time, beneficial in the long run. 

According to studies, about 25% of children and teens do not have any “vigorous physical activity.”  About 14% children and teens report no physical activity like walking or cycling, everyday. This can be one of the reasons why the number of children has doubled since the early 1970s. In 2000, 19% of children, 6 to 11 years old, and 17%, 12 to 19 years old, are considered overweight. 

Those who are involved in physical activities, reduce the risks of developing health problems as they grow older.  Exercising reduces the risks of obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke and heart disease.  But making your child follow a 30 minute exercise video is no fun for your kid.  There are fitness centers  that have children workout program, they would include biking, swimming, walking, marching, playing games to introduce low, moderate and high impact aerobics and physical activity. 

Introducing children and teens to aerobics would help them become more active and at the same time, change their outlook towards the lifestyle they will be having as they grow old.  There are also fitness centers which offer exercise programs suitable for children and teens, based on their age, skill and of course, their fitness and personal condition.  

There are also CDs and DVDs that mix an aerobic workout with dances and other fun ways. Teens and older children may enjoy dancing to hip-hop and modern dances. Some would also show interest in doing aerobic dances, kickboxing, yoga and Pilates. You could also help your child participate in school-organized sports and activities.

There are guidelines that should be kept in mind when involving your child in physical activity according to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (1997) and the Council for Physical Education for Children (1998). Children should at least be physically active within 30 to 60 minutes on all or most of the days of the week. Moderate to vigorous activity a day should last for about 10 to 15 minutes. Playing games and activities like biking, walking, running, etc. should also be included in the child’s activities.

To encourage physical activity, make sure to implement rules that would lead to healthier lifestyle. This would include setting time for watching television and computer games. Aside from that, make sure that your child would be eating meals not in front of the television or computer. This would promote or give time for parents to talk to children during meals.

The easiest way to teach and encourage children to exercise is to set an example. Obesity and overweight problems are not just children health concerns, alarmingly, a lot of adults also suffer from these health problems. The family exercising together helps the family build stronger and closer relationships. Aerobics would not only benefit your child, but the whole family as well.
